Ajax and Celta de Vigo have reached agreement about the transfer of Daniel de Ridder to the Spanish club. Signs five year contract!
Ajax Amsterdam:
Moving up De Ridder worked his way up to the first-team selection from Ajax's youth department, making his full debut in an away game against Roda JC on 21 January 2004, and scoring his first goal against Willem II on 16 May.
Extended deal De Ridder had originally been contracted until 2005, but has now committed to the Amsterdam club until June 2007. "It feels good that Ajax has faith in me," he said. "I will do my absolute best to contribute to the battle for the championship, Dutch Cup and UEFA Cup."
National team Part of the Netherlands side that reached the second qualifying round of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in 2002/03, De Ridder had stepped up to the U21s as the 2004/06 UEFA European Championship qualifying campaign kicked off.
Club The forward/midfield player joined Ajax as a junior and stepped up to the first team in early 2004, making his Eredivisie debut against Roda JC on 21 January. He was a regular throughout the second half of the campaign, starting nine games and appearaing a further six times as a replacement. De Ridder made his UEFA Champions League debut in September 2004, coming on as a 69th-minute substitute in a 4-0 defeat at FC Bayern München. |
